How Important Is Tire Pressure?
Over inflated and under inflated tires can both cause problems for ride comfort, driver safety and product longevity.
Under inflated tires create extra contact with the road surface. This makes tires run hot, uses more gas, affects vehicle handling, and wears tires prematurely.
Over inflated tires create less contact with the road surface. This can create a harsher ride, affect vehicle handling, wears tires prematurely, and can cause ill effects such as hydroplaning.
Tires should always be properly inflated to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendation, found on the vehicle tire information door placard, typically inside the door panel or on the door itself.
